Ministry Moves at the Speed of Relationships

Ministry can be deeply rewarding, but it can also be deeply isolating. Pastors and ministry leaders often carry the weight of leading others while neglecting one of the things they need most themselves: meaningful relationships.

That’s one reason RPLNISH creates intentional space for pastors and leaders to step away from the demands of ministry, experience rest, and build relationships that can sustain them for the long haul.

Pastor Ben recently experienced this firsthand on a RPLNISH trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico:

“As a full-time pastor, one of the things I’ve appreciated most about Replenish is simply having someone create the opportunity and space to pull away. Ministry makes it easy to keep putting that off, so having a place and time already set aside has been a real gift.”

But the greatest gift, he said, may have been the relationships… meeting other pastors and leaders, hearing what’s happening in their world, and spending meaningful time with good friends.

“The chance to laugh, have fun, share life, and grow closer to friends has been incredibly valuable to me. Looking back, I think those relationships have been the most replenishing part of all.”

Pastor Oscar saw that same dynamic unfold during a recent RPLNISH retreat in Guanajuato, Mexico, where 14 pastors gathered outside San Miguel de Allende.

“Ministry really moves at the speed of relationships, and Replenish has been an instrument that God has used in building relationships.”

Oscar recognized that exhaustion and discouragement can come not only from a lack of rest, but also from a lack of relationships. So, 14 pastors came together for a time to replenish, connect, and build lifelong relationships that they hope will inspire a new season of ministry.

That’s the heart of RPLNISH: creating space where pastors and ministry leaders can step away, breathe deeply, laugh freely, and build the kinds of friendships that help them remain healthy and effective in ministry for years to come.

Because ministry was never meant to be lived alone. Healthy pastors lead healthy churches. And healthy ministry leaders need healthy relationships.
